Lakewood to Moclips

Arrived here (Moclips) at 4:30pm just before sunset. Lots of flooding in Grays Harbor County. The pastures along route 12 look like lakes and the farms were definately on waterfront property this week. Satsop and Montesano areas were definately all flooded. The towns weren't but the farms definately had a lot of water. Hoquium river seemed higher than normal.

Lots of debris along Ocean Beach road, but no snapped telephone poles like there was in December 2007. The worst that happened at our house was the garbage cans were everywhere, plants in the garden were blown over and the 100 feet of landscape plastic (we thought was secured) wrapped itself around our Dish Antenna. No broken windows, no shingles missing and all skylights were secure. All is well in my book.

In checking our Davis Vantage Pro2, the high wind this week was 54 mph from the west and the total rainfall for the storm (since 11/14) was 10.33 inches. Thats a goodly amount of rain for 5 days --even for out here at the Washington Coast.

The winds and rain are starting to pick up at 7pm. 25-45mph at this moment. Only .25rain for today so far. Still it always seems so loud and ferocious out there.

The dogs and I shall sleep well.
